Thank goodness for Australia. It must be something in the air over there, because I consistenly find that all the coolest clothing is coming from eBay sellers down under. Dolly Dagger Vintage is one of those stores that clearly takes the time to handpick everything so it’s all “just right”. They collect a bunch of stuff, sell it all out in a week, and then come back with another perfect crop. So keep your eye on them to catch their newest round of vintage finds. From now on, I’m posting a “Splurge Fantasy” item from eBay, everyday. Anything in the $300 and up range is not what most people would call easily attainable, but hey, I love to “keep the dream alive”. You may have seen me post a few here and there in the past, but I see amazing things on eBay every single day, and many of them are such wonderful eye-candy, I just can’t go on any longer without sharing ALL of them with you. I saw these Dries van Noten heels and lost my breath. I am addicted to everything multi-colored, and this is multi-colored at its best. They’re priced at $319 (original price was $640). I would live my whole life in these shoes… well.. if they were my size. These are a 7.5. If you grab these, let me know, so I can imagine I’m you lol.
I freaking love Etro. Hardcore. And this bag takes my lust to the extremes with all my favorite colors (except black), gold hardware, and the fabric/leather combination (I’ve been really into that lately). $300, ending tonight. This vintage Karl Lagerfeld skirt suit is cut too sharp and sexy to avoid lusting over. Being yellow makes it that much harder. I think I’m in love with every inch of this suit. $300.

In another act of outrageously smooth bargain shopping, I ended up with this top for just $29, rather than the $200 it sold for at retail stores.
Akris Punto Blazer.
I paid $18.99 for this. This retailed for more than $400. This bargain was as close to getting away with crime as it gets. I love that it has hook-and-eye closures. And obviously the tailoring is perfection.
You know J. Crew has been having some really solid sales lately right? I mean really, really solid. Well, I was sick, and I missed all these sales. They were selling everything in this gorgeous “Gladiola” print for incredible prices, and everything sold out in a flash. So, I got this J Crew Gladiola blouse on eBay! WOOOHOOOO! $29.
This one is special because it’s by Italian designer Kosmika, which is a rare find here in the states. I got it for $21.49, and every time I put it on it get compliments. It’s a sweat jacket, but better.

Today I met a friend for lunch. I know that she tends to like chain restaurants, and I tend to love breadsticks, so we met in the middle at Olive Garden. Yes. Out of everywhere to go in NYC, I am proud to have chosen Olive Garden (don’t hate me). We had a lot of catching up to do… actually six hours worth. My boyfriend went with me and did a great job of hanging in there as her and I talked all those hours about “girl stuff” (he knows it will always be a 5-8 hour ordeal when I meet up with her, we always have too much catching up to do). Moved to NYC, check. Got a job and an apartment in 6 days, check. Realized I had done it all too quickly, and made the tough choice to quit the job, check. Just sat down yesterday to breathe for the first time in more than 2 weeks… and saw the Star Trek movie last night, check. You should go see it too, it’s perfection. The only thing I sadly didn’t squeeze in recently was these great eBay auctions, too lovely for me not to post. Enjoy catching up with me, and be ready for a slew of hotness this week, as I can tell that eBay seems to be ramping back up to it’s true glory again (perhaps its the air of optimism that the economy is getting better soon).
I’m dubbing this “Ebay Item of the Month”. I know we’re still early in the month, but this will be very hard to top- a Prada chain mail top. This is so runway! The auction started at $0.99 and ended at $275.99 and this top is worth every penny of that and so much more. I don’t even want to guess what the original retail price was. I wish this were mine, but want to say major congrats to whoever won this piece of art! This sort of thing probaly won’t show up again for a long time.
This Prada dress wins a close 2nd place… retailing for a super-heftly $3315, this to-die-for piece sold for $769. I swear if I EVER see this dress again in my size I will have to at least put in a bid.

Let’s start out with what I got on eBay. Okay, eBay was slower in January than I anticipated, but there was still a huge pile of stuff I wish I could have purchased. I had to keep it simple. Out of everything I saw, I was very fortunate to narrow it down to this Reiss blazer which I won on eBay for just $27! I literally just spotted this blazer in the UK edition of Marie Claire and it retailed for about $450. I gasped when I saw it because I think it’s the hottest thing ever. Then it magically showed up on eBay, for cheap. Magic? Fate? Well, at the very least it’s very, very good luck.
I recently got extremely lucky and was able to pick up some items that had been on my wishlist for MONTHS. First of all, living in Miami means I normally can’t spend much on winter staples, but a few interviews in the northeast gave me plenty of excuse to run out and buy a coat. Unfortunately, I found myself unimpressed with the styles and even the post-holiday prices on coats in the Miami area, and I was in a time crunch to get a coat with interviews coming up so soon. In an amazing stroke of luck, my sister decided to send me a Nordtroms gift card to “celebrate the new year”, and Nordstroms.com happened to have the coat of my dreams on sale- this Soia & Kyo Joana coat. I managed to squeeze in some classic BCBG pumps on the gift card too! Obviously my sister is an awesome gift-giver.
Forever21.com is a site I check pretty frequently, but for what seems like more than a year, I haven’t really loved many of their items. I was very pleasantly surprised when this hot bustier top showed up at just $12.80, and I immediately knew I had to have it. Plus the straps are removable. With a price this cheap, it was impossible not to buy it! It looks so hot with blazers and cardigans that I wish it came in every color.
I saw this Pour La Victoire shoe in several magazines many months ago and have wanted it ever since, but it was priced too high for my budget. After the holidays, Endless.com had the shoe on sale. I let just a few days go by as I considered if I should buy it at the new lower price, but by the time I was ready, it had sold out in my size in every color. It had almost sold out in all sizes actually. In a moment of what I call retail fate, I went to Zappos.com and found THE LAST PAIR IN SIZE 8 in the color I wanted, red, also on sale, and felt like I had just won lottery. This shoe is so amazing- I don’t know where to begin- the color combination, the gold zipper… the fact that it’s so comfortable- all amazing. This shoe definitely made me feel like 2009 was off to a great start. Zappos is out of most average sizes in this shoe, but if you love this shoe too, you might be able to find some still available on Amazon.com for just $59 including shipping!
So, the economy is a mess. Can’t buy everything. I saved up for some shopping, but even with the sales and the gift card hookup from my sister, I gotta hold off for a while. This is what else I may have gotten if it weren’t for the “tough times” and my “recent grad money issues” going on right now.
Marc Jacobs Coat. Still has the retail tag attached with the $1500 price! This just sold for $53 plus $15 shipping for a total of $68! OUTRAGEOUS BARGAIN. I wanted it so bad because I love this amazing color combination and I doubt this will pop up on eBay again… sigh*
Marni Sandals. $65. Seriously… these went for $65. sigh again*
Tibi Dress with Leather Belt. This went for about $50. I love it, but I just don’t need this sort of thing right now. Besides, I love my new shoes more anyway! (That’s how I help my self get over it lol)

Neon Life Vintage is a great little stop if you love quirky vintage pieces with unusual details. I had never seen an 80’s pastel-floral-fringed jacket actually look good until I saw the one they’re selling right now. I also have no idea how they found a denim studded jumpsuit that look cute. This store discloses it’s US location as “Hipsters Playground” rather than naming the actual city. I’d love to take some guesses as to where that is, but it doesn’t matter. What matters is that their clothes are cool. They offer a carefully chosen variety of vintage items that are in excellent condition. You won’t find any flaws here, but you will find some super 80’s gear, leather, lace, and sequins.
